Accusations is nominated for the Zwaan (Swan) for the most impressive dance production. The most important dance prize of the Netherlands is awarded annually by the Vereniging van Schouwburg- en Concertgebouwdirecties (VSCD – Association of Theater and Music Hall Directorates). The jury: “Accusations is a deliciously tough and uncompromising production, executed by a magnificent cast of charismatic performers. With little means the dancers literally and figuratively know how to grab the spotlight. The setting of images, light and sound forms a meticulously composed whole. It is a rough diamond on the edge of several disciplines, one that frustrates, touches and tantalizes.”
Ann Van den Broek was previously nominated for E19 (richting San José) (2007), I SOLO MENT (2009) and Domestica (with Krisztina de Châtel, 2013). For Co(te)lette (2008) and The Black Piece (2015) she actually won the Swan Award.
Also nominted are IGNITE of ISH Dance Collective and Midnight Raga a production of the Nederlands Dans Theater. The Swan will be awarded during the Dutch Dancefestival in Maastricht (5 – 8 October).
