The Lady in Black is a documentary about Ann Van den Broek made by director Lisa Boerstra. The film tours together with Ann and her dancers through many theaters, new creations, physical battles of exhaustion and sizzling passion. In all things intense.
Director Lisa Boerstra followed Ann for over a year and a half. Central is the creation process of the performance The Black Piece, but Boerstra also traveled with the (inter)national tours of Co(te)lette, I SOLO MENT, We Solo Men, The Red Piece and Q61 Cemetery. After seeing The Lady in Black, it is clear how Ann as a person and artist is intertwined with her choreographies.
