Loops of Behaviour is a multi-day performance installation, first seen in The Curve, the performance and exhibition space from The Barbican (London). Loops of Behaviour confronts the audience in different formats with Ann Van den Broek’s in-depth research about human behavioral patterns, moods and feelings.
Visitors are immersed in live performances, spoken word, sound and video. The work takes on various forms, including a large number of performances as well as a continuous exhibition. Spectators can walk freely inside and outside and can move through the move space during the performances. As a result, the artists are very close to the audience, which results in a special interaction between audience and artists. With Loops or Behaviour WArd/waRD is exploring alternative spaces outside of the theater in order to present modern dance in a different cultural context.
The installation Loops of Behaviour consists of five parts:
• In Accusations, The Curve version five performers manipulate four transmedial platforms set up in the exhibition space
• Accusation Loops shows fragments from Accusations will be projected on several screens and simultaneously performed around them creating a web of video, live performance and sound
• Accusation solos in which every performer chooses his or her personal perspective on Accusations to create a steady accumulation of movement, sound and words
• Sonic Loops are improv sessions by composer Nicolas Rombouts
• The installation Loops of Emotions is a number of video monitors with films
